Scientific and Professional Trajectory
Scientific and Professional Profile
Lisandro Gonçalves is a dentist, researcher, scientific editor, methodological developer, and clinical technology innovator whose professional trajectory bridges clinical dentistry, dental biomaterials, physicochemical characterization, digital technologies, clinical documentation, and research methodology.
During his academic teaching career, he developed a strong commitment to undergraduate education and early scientific training. He actively mentored students in their first research experiences and encouraged their participation in scientific initiation programs. This involvement began early in his academic trajectory and included guiding undergraduate students in the development and presentation of research projects at meetings of the Brazilian Society for Dental Research (SBPqO).
He holds a Master’s degree in Dentistry, with emphasis in Endodontics, and has completed postgraduate clinical training in multiple areas of dentistry. His early experimental research focused on the interaction between clinical procedures, dental materials, irrigation protocols, obturation systems, and the root–dentin interface, incorporating quantitative assessment through displacement-resistance testing.
This materials-oriented foundation subsequently expanded into digital dentistry, clinical imaging, three-dimensional workflows, structured clinical documentation, technological innovation, and methodological systems designed to enhance reproducibility, traceability, verification, and scientific decision-making.
His more recent work explores the intersection of clinical practice, digital systems, scientific methodology, and responsible artificial intelligence. Particular emphasis is placed on human oversight, transparent documentation, methodological accountability, and the development of traceable approaches for the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into scientific and clinical workflows.
